When you need a car seat hire at the airport, you only need to know the child’s age and whether they are of above average torso length. All our car seats (convertible car seats and extended harnessing car seat) are easy adjust, so you can make the final height adjustment even after installation.

When it comes to airport Car seat hire, there are four choices available:
- Baby Capsule Hire (newborn to 6 months)
- Convertible Car Seats (newborn to 4 years)
- Extended Harnessing car Seats (12 months to 8 years)
- Booster car Seats (four years +)
Baby Capsule Hire
Baby Capsules are suitable for babies from birth through to approximately 6 months of age; afterwards a convertible car seat is used in rear facing mode.
Baby Capsules are handy when your baby is not too heavy and you do not want to disturb the child while they are sleeping. It is possible to move your baby from the car to your pram in the capsule.
Convertible Car Seat hire
Toddler Convertible car seats are suitable for children from birth through to (approximately) 4 years of age. Convertible car seat can either be forward facing car seats or rear facing car seats.
Children should be rear facing from birth through to at least 12 to 14 months or at least they have reached the first shoulder height marker.
Extended Harnessing Car Seat hire
Extended harnessing car seats are also referred to as a “G” type seat which was introduced in accordance with the new child restraint standards released in September 2014.
A G type seat, means the child can be harnessed from approximately 6 months of age to around 8 years of age. This is great news for friends and family visiting Melbourne; the extended harnessing car seat will keep your child secure in a 6 point harness from the airport, regardless of their average size.
Booster Seats
What many people know as a booster seat, can only be used for toddlers
- Aged 4 Years and older
- Meeting the minimum should heat marker when sitting in a booster seat
The reason for these requirements is to ensure your child has sufficient core strength and ensuring the sash of the adult seat belt goes across the strongest part of the shoulder.
